This is Me

I’m a big fan of the tiny planet effect. San Francisco’s clouds don’t make for good lighting though.

Who I Am

I’m a guy who was born in Washington and raised in California simply looking to follow my passion, and my passion is video. I’ve been pursuing this in various capacities since 2010 and got invested enough to get a degree in BECA (Broadcasting and Electronic Communication Arts) at San Francisco State University. It was a great experience, and now I’m looking for employment to get rid of that pesky little issue of debt I contracted along the way.

I grew up primarily in Antioch, California. It’s too hot and kinda violent there but despite that I spent much of my childhood learning about technology and partaking in all sorts of media. Primarily TV and video games, I admit. I also spend time building and fixing computers. This has actually fed back into my passion for video because I am now very hardware-capable to edit 4K video and above.

I also run a YouTube gaming channel called “UtterSpartan” as a hobby. You probably saw it and the associated Twitter account Googling my name. I just do it for fun; I assure you any professional work takes priority.

What I Know

For the purposes of video editing I am primarily trained in the Adobe Creative Suite. I have years of experience with Premiere, After Effects, and Photoshop. For audio I mainly use Audacity and Adobe Audition. For video editing purposes I’m also versed with Magix’s (formerly Sony’s) Vegas editing software and have been tinkering around with Black Magic DaVinci Resolve as of late.

360 video is my passion within my passion as you could have probably told from my editing reel. Therefore I do have knowledge of editing VR videos in After Effects and Premiere. My editing reel took heavy advantage of VR effects and footage despite being 2D and it is always a fun challenge to work with that kind of footage.

I do also have plenty of hands-on knowledge. I’ve used a wide variety of cameras, from smartphones, to 4K Sony cameras in a TV studio, and even ~5K 360 cameras. I’ve manned teleprompters and used CueIT, written scripts with Celtx, and I directed many productions I worked on in school. I’ve even done V.O. I’m absolutely no stranger to taking on multiple roles.

Where I’m Going

Video editing is the main goal and I know I can provide more than the basic clip stitching and hitting render. Whether it be leading my own productions, making motion graphics, cleaning audio, or participating on teams for fictional, factual, educational, adult-targeted or child-targeted content, I want to make a mark.

In short, I just want to leave a good impression wherever I go.
